Mourna Handful milks it for all it’s worth.

Mourna Handful of Black Tassel Boolesque was a show stopper – not only did she bring awesome poses and awesome costumes, she delivered a doozy of a performance.  I don’t say this often, but I think her performance ranks as one of the best Dr. Sketchy’s Baltimore has ever seen.

It was certainly the first one in which the front row of the audience got hosed GWAR-style – we warned them ahead of time.  We try to be nice like that.

A friend of ours was in attendance, and had only seen one burlesque performance before in her life.  What she’d seen before could best be characterized as classic-y burlesque – slow reveals, glove peals, jazz songs, all that.   Up to that point, she hadn’t known seen anything of a more humorous nature.  Suffice it to say, when the Mourna’s act ended, our friend was left with her mouth hanging open and a complete lack of words.

If that isn’t a win, I don’t know what is. 🙂

Anyways, I’ll have the video for that session done in a few days.  Till then, take a gander at the photos below from Jeff and Alexis.

Thank you to Caroline Jones, John Schloman, Kat Parker, Kimberly Keyes Stark, Nanette Hatzes, and Tim Kelly for sending in their artwork which we’ve included below.

Special super-duper thanks to Mourna Handful for gifting us with one of the prettiest and funniest sessions we’ve ever seen; thanks to our sponsors Atomic Books and Baby Tattoo Books for providing prizes for the contests; thanks to Russell for slinging booze and music; thanks to Jeff for some of the photos you see below; thanks to Valeria Voxx for helping set up the stage and hold down the fort at the door; and thanks to Alexis for emceeing the whole affair.
