What is Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School: Baltimore?
Dr. Sketchy’s is a fun cocktail of drawing, drinks, and dazzling performers. Started by artist Molly Crabapple in 2005, Dr. Sketchy’s is based on Molly’s harebrained dream of a “decadent” art class with fair pay and respect for the models and boozy fun for all, and has branches in over a hundred cities around the globe. Aaron Bush and Alexis de la Rosa brought Sketchy’s to Charm City in 2008.
Whether you’re an art star or a scribbling newbie, Dr. Sketchy’s is the perfect place to get your fill of life drawing—join us on the 2nd Monday of each month at The Windup Space, located at 12 West North Avenue in Baltimore’s Station North Arts District!
Seating is first come, first serve. Come early; doors open at 6 pm, and drawing starts at 7. Admission is just $10 if you buy your ticket by midnight the night before the event, or $12 at the door. (Please note: for our 10th anniversary event on June 9, tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door.) Ticket sales are final.
Remember to bring your art materials (no paints, please) and cash tips for the models.
