Next session: March 22 with contortionist & performance artist Rebecca Nagle!

Well, Aaron and I recently had our busy week of Dr. Sketchy’s sessions. First, we had the lovely Nori Zay for last Monday’s session at our home at the Windup Space. Then, the fabulous DC burlesque stars L’il Dutch and Sugar Ann Spice posed for last Friday’s session at ArtWhino’s massive art show, G40: The Summit, in Crystal City, VA. (BTW, Baltimore, you seriously should make the trip down to check out the show before it closes on the 30th.) Thanks to all of you who joined us at these sessions—and even bigger thanks to those crazy, awesome people who came to both sessions!

And now, we’re gearing up again for next week’s session:

Monday, March 22
Dr. Sketchy’s Baltimore featuring Rebecca Nagle
doors open at 6 p.m., drawing starts at 7 p.m.

Contortionist and performance artist Rebecca Nagle will be our twisted muse for this Monday’s session—join us for some drinks, drawing, and debauchery.   We’ll have more off-the-wall drawing contests in which you’ll have a chance to win awesome prizes from Atomic Books, Artist & Craftsman Supply, and Baby Tattoo Books!

And, for next weekend:

–If you’re in DC this Saturday, be sure to check out the lovely L’il Dutch and a cast of fabulous stars from up and down the East Coast in the Dutch Oven Burlesque Revival, their 2nd anniversary show, at the Palace of Wonders!

–If you’re here in Charm City, don’t miss sassy Brooklyn songstress Sabrina Chap (who modeled and performed a few of her fantastic songs for us last month), Baltimore’s own boylesque sensation Paco Fish, and more in Trixie and Monkey’s Hanky Spanky Show this Saturday at the Ottobar!

More details and events on our Calendar O’ Fun, so check it out.

Last, but not least: please please please, send us your sketches! All of you, whether you drew Nori Zay at the Windup, or L’il Dutch and Sugar Ann Spice at G40—please email them to us here, or join our Facebook group and post them there. We saw some seriously awesome work at both sessions, and we hope to see them again. Don’t forget to include your name (and link to your site, if you have one) so we can credit you if we include your sketches on our blog! We’ll have recaps of both sessions up on the blog soon.

Have fun, and see you Monday!

—Alexis and Aaron
